Mr. Chandima C. Muhandiramge, a distinguished old boy of Mahinda College, Galle, is a graduate of the University of Colombo with a special degree in Economics.

He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Ruhuna and has obtained a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), India, with First Class honors.

Mr. Chandima C. Muhandiramge, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, is a seasoned public official who began his career as an Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.

During his tenure, he has held numerous positions including Assistant Divisional Secretary (Imaduwa), Assistant Chief Secretary (Southern Province), Assistant Commissioner of Local Government (Galle District), Commissioner of Local Government (Southern Province), Divisional Secretary (Yakkalamulla and Bope-Poddala), Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Export Agriculture, and Director General of the Department of Rubber Development.

At the time of his appointment as Chief Secretary of the Southern Province, he was serving as the Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and related sectors of the Southern Province.

Mr. Chandima C. Muhandiramge, who was appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Southern Province by Hon. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, officially assumed duties as the Chief Secretary of the Southern Province on 19.12.2025 at the Office of the Chief Secretariat of the Southern Province.
