Productivity and ISO standered functions of the General Secretariat
The Southern Provincial Chief Secretariat has been able to win the first place in the inter-ministerial category in the 2020 competition of the National Productivity Awards held annually by the National Productivity Secretariat.
The Southern Provincial Chief Secretariat, which won merit certificates under the inter-provincial ministry category in 2007 and 2008, won the third place in 2013 and the second place in the inter-ministerial category in 2014, 2015 and 2018 respectively in the competition held in relation to the year 2020. Winning first place is a special achievement.
I also gratefully remember the former Southern Province Chief Secretary Mr. R. C. De Soyza and the entire staff dedicated to this achievement.
The award related to this achievement was recently presented at the Araliyagaha Mandir and the present Chief Secretary of the Southern Province Mr. Sumit Alahakon and a group of chief officers participated in the event.
As a result of those activities, the number of companies participating in the National Productivity Competition in 2015 was 170 and in 2018 it was 286.
Out of those institutions, the number of institutions that qualified for the on-site inspection in 2015 was 135 and in 2018 it has increased to 181. Also, the number of institutions that won in 2015 was 122 and in 2018 that number has increased to 159.
The winners of the National Productivity Awards in 2015 were awarded cash prizes Rs. 9650000.00) at the Provincial Productivity Awards Ceremony.
ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Certification has been obtained in 2013/2014, 2015/2016 and 2017.
ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification has been obtained in the year 2024
